Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. The Service is intended for educators and other authorized professionals. By using it, you represent that you meet these requirements.

Your Account

• You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it current.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
• Notify us promptly if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.

The Service

TEKS Forge generates draft, TEKS-aligned lesson plans for Texas English I and English II (grades 9 and 10) based on the inputs you provide. The Service is a planning aid intended to support, not replace, your professional judgment.

AI-Generated Content

Lesson plans, anchor texts, passages, questions, and other materials produced by the Service are generated by artificial intelligence and are provided “as is.” They may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or anachronisms, and any reading passages are AI-generated rather than authoritative or sourced texts.

You are solely responsible for reviewing all generated content for accuracy, appropriateness, and alignment with your standards before using it in a classroom, and for ensuring its use complies with your school’s or district’s policies. TEKS Forge does not warrant that generated content is correct, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Attempt to access another user's account or data.
• Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the Service except as permitted by law.
• Use the Service to generate content that is unlawful, harmful, or infringing.

Subscriptions and Billing

• The Service offers a free tier with monthly usage limits and one or more paid plans with additional features.
• Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe and, where applicable, renew automatically until canceled.
• You may cancel a paid plan at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain paid features until then.
• Plan features, limits, and pricing may change. We will provide notice of material changes where required.

Intellectual Property

As between you and TEKS Forge, you retain ownership of the lesson plans you generate and are free to use them in your teaching. TEKS Forge and its licensors retain all rights in the Service itself, including its software, design, branding, and trademarks. You may not use the TEKS Forge name or logo without our permission.

Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services, including Google (for sign-in and Google Docs export) and Stripe (for payments). Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.

Trademark Disclaimer

TEKS Forge is an independent educational tool. It is not sponsored by, endorsed by, or affiliated with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) or the State of Texas. TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) and STAAR® are registered trademarks or standards of their respective owners, used here solely for descriptive and educational purposes.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated content will be accurate or reliable.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TEKS Forge and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TEKS Forge and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Texas.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
