Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from your Google account.
• Lesson inputs. The information you provide to generate lesson plans — such as grade level, TEKS standards, lesson topic, instructional model, and classroom context (for example, the percentage of English-language-learner or special-education students you indicate).
• Generated content. The lesson plans the Service produces for you, including any edits you save.
• Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number; Stripe handles payment details under its own privacy policy.
• Google Drive data. If you choose to export a lesson plan to Google Docs, we request limited access to create files in your Google Drive and securely store the access tokens needed to perform that export. We do not read or access your existing Drive files.
• Usage and log data. We log generation requests and related metadata (such as timestamps and response times) to operate features like monthly usage limits and to monitor and improve the Service.
• Cookies. We use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to maintain your session. We do not use advertising cookies.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including generating lesson plans.
• To authenticate you and secure your account.
• To process subscriptions and payments.
• To enforce plan limits and prevent abuse.
• To communicate with you about your account, including service-related notices.
• To comply with legal obligations.

How AI Generation Works

Lesson plans are generated using a third-party large-language-model provider (Anthropic). The lesson inputs you submit are sent to that provider to produce your lesson plan. We do not use your content to train our own models. Anthropic processes the data under its own terms and privacy commitments.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:

• Service providers (subprocessors). We rely on trusted vendors to operate the Service: Supabase (database, authentication, and storage), Anthropic (AI generation), Stripe (payment processing), Google (sign-in and Google Docs export), and Vercel (hosting). These providers may process your information only to provide services to us.
• Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of TEKS Forge, our users, or others.
• Business transfers. If TEKS Forge is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Data Retention

We retain your account information and lesson plans for as long as your account is active. You may delete individual lesson plans at any time, and you may request deletion of your account by contacting us. Some information may be retained as required for legal, accounting, or security purposes.

Your Rights and Choices

• Access and update your account information from within the Service.
• Delete individual lesson plans you have created.
• Disconnect Google Drive access at any time through your Google account settings.
• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us.

Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s Privacy

The Service is intended for educators and other adults aged 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The Service is a tool for teachers to plan lessons; it is not designed for direct use by students.

Where Your Information Is Processed

TEKS Forge and its service providers are based in the United States, and your information is processed there. By using the Service, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
